Donatello’s was started in 2010 by married couple Patrick and Beth Aasen and their oldest son Adam.
Patrick started his career decades ago as a chef at the Italian Village. He was head chef at many restaurants including Rudy and Rosa’s. He was the chef/owner of Arturo’s (now closed) located near Keystone and 86th Street.
Beth Aasen has worked with Pat for many years and she books all the parties at Donatello’s and bakes all of the cakes. She also orders all of the wines and liquors, waits tables and cooks too. She enjoys yoga in her spare time.
Adam Aasen was a journalist for many years before helping start the restaurant. He graduated from IU in 2006 and he currently covers politics for the Current in Carmel newspaper. He used to perform stand-up comedy (it’s been years since he did that) and he watches way too many movies. He likes to play basketball, do CrossFit and walk his dog Alfie.
